I am very excited to be planning the launch of my new website and online store at the end of 2013. To help raise some much needed capital, I am having a clearance sale of my art prints from the 2011 exhibition. All prints are A5, offset printed on 350gsm matt laminate stock. Head on over to my Etsy store to check them out!
As a graphic designer, I always get a thrill out of receiving the end product back from the printer. It’s a nerve wracking moment: you know that despite having triple checked your artwork and signing off on perfect proofs, something can still go wrong. But when you open up that parcel and you discover this gorgeous, embellished little piece if beauty you have created, it’s hard not to smile and high five yourself! These were done for local Perth Florist, Clare Cummings aka The Flowergirl. We worked closely together to achieve her vision for her small business branding and are both ecstatic with the result!
I was commissioned to illustrate a children’s book written by a work colleague, Emma Driscoll, for her little niece Abby to give to her as a Christmas present. 100 brownie points for this Auntie I’d say! Anyway I will eventually get around to photographing my recent work professionally but for now here are some instagram sneak peeks into how it went.
Friday was a much-needed quiet night in my cosy apartment cuddling up with Trousers the cat. Whilst we were watching ‘My Week with Marylin’ I got crafty with some type, which I printed out on some 190g white lazer at 10% grey, hand-cut and then applied glue all over them so I could sprinkle them with glitter! The garland is festive and pretty.

I had a wonderful time at my friends Marc & Jessie’s Wedding. (I can call you guys the ‘Papains now!) I did the drinks menu for the day by hand on a black chalk board. It came out well!
I am excited to be one of 4 designers creating a tree to be installed in the Enex 100 building in Perth. The trees will be auctioned off with the proceeds going to a charity of our choice. I am doing my tree on behalf of the Cat Haven WA and there will be a people’s choice award so make sure you head down and make your vote! The installation will be up in Enex on November 18th. I’m going to be posting my work in progress so stay tuned for more pictures.
One good thing about working full time is weekends. Oh how I love the weekend. Every now and then I get to do something to improve our little love nest and recently I did up a dresser. I found it abandoned on the side of the road but all it really needed was a sand, prime and paint and now it’s a sexy black number with gold handles. Here’s a few of my favorite corners:
I recently took on the challenge of designing a last-minute logo for Pop Up Cinema Perth, a new initiative by Amicko Films. I decided to create something colorful that reminded me of projections, colour and light. Here are some shots of the work in progress:
